New item command

Topic overview

This command allows you to create new inventory item records in the database. It is used less frequently because many companies choose to load their initial inventory with the Data Load feature. It is more commonly used when you expand or diversify your inventory.

Access

To add an item to the inventory database, select Inventory and Purchases > Inventory > New item from the Navigator menu as shown in Figure 1.

How To's

This opens the Add New Part dialog box where you enter the category and sub-category information to which the part belongs. The Inventory Wizard appears where you specify the inventory type, supplier and brand information, detail cost and price information and finally enter quantity information.
