Edit item command

Topic overview

This command allows you to edit existing inventory item records in the database. It is used frequently because many companies choose to load their initial inventory with the Data Load feature and then modify individual records to give more detail to the record.

Not all users have access privileges for editing inventory items. See Setup Tools> Setup Wizard> Users and Security. For those users, to view inventory item details use the View Item command.

Access

To edit an item in the inventory database, select Inventory and Purchase > Inventory > Edit item from the Navigator menu as shown in Figure 1.

How To's

This opens the Part Find window where you specify the search criteria and select the desired inventory item in the list. See Finding inventory items. The Inventory Details window appears with the selected item's details displayed and you can then perform the following tasks:
