Picture sub-tab

Topic Overview

The Inventory Details window - Comments Picture sub-tab, shown in Figure 1 (Lookup Words) and Figure 2 (Caption), provides the ability to include pictures of the parts in your inventory. The pictures can be added manually, by clicking the [+] button in the Picture tab or they can be added and assigned through a data load function (if using only one picture per inventory item). See Data Load for more information on the use of that tool.

When changing an image attached to an inventory item, System Five checks to see whether any other parts use the same image. If it finds any, a confirmation dialog box asks you if want to switch the image for the other parts at the same time. The default action is to not change other parts.

The purpose and/or function of the items on the Picture tab are detailed in Table 1.

Component	Description
[ < ] # of #	When more than one graphic is associated with an inventory item, this button allows you to move back to the previous graphic. The position of the graphic you are on in the list and that you move to, are displayed to the right of the button in the format 2 of 3 for example. If you at the first graphic no action is taken.
[ > ] # of #	When more than one graphic is associated with an inventory item, this button allows you to move forward to the next graphic. The position of the graphic you are on in the list and that you move to, are displayed to the right of the button in the format 2 of 3 for example. If you at the last graphic no action is taken.
Default image	Check this check box to make this image the default image for the inventory item. If you loaded more than one graphic for an inventory item, the first one encountered becomes the default automatically, you can change this by using the [<] and [>] buttons to move to the graphic you want as default and checking this check box. The check box on the first graphic is cleared. When you enter the inventory record next time this new default graphic moves to the front of the line and appears as graphic 1.
[ - ]	Click this button to delete the inventory item association with the displayed graphic. If you change your mind and wish to include this image again, you must re-associate lookup words and a caption. Warning: deleting the image may result in the image data being removed from the database, however, it won't affect a file on the file system.
[ + ]	Click this button to add another graphic association with the inventory item. This open a Windows Open dialog box for you to navigate to and select the desired graphic file.

In the Picture sub-tab - Lookup Words tab, you can associate lookup words to each inventory item graphic. These lookup words are sperate from the item's lookup words assigned in the Lookup Words sub-tab. See Lookup Words for details on the use of the lookup words.

In the Picture sub-tab - Caption tab, you can associate a caption to each inventory item graphic by typing the desired text directly in the Caption text box. Any combination of the first five images can be selected on the Invoice Designer Items tab for printing on invoices.

Note: If you have the e-commerce extension, the system exports the pictures (and associated lookup words and/or caption) to the web along with the part number, description, web comment, selling price and other inventory information.
