Duties are fees paid to the Customs decision of the government when importing goods you then sell. Therefore, they apply to specific inventory items. Tariffs may also apply see Tariff Codes for more information. The Setup Wizard's Duty Codes command allows you to specify Duty codes enable their use. Additionally, for the feature to work you must assign Duty codes to inventory. Currently this function in System Five is configured specifically for our Jamaican customers.
To maintain Duty codes, select Setup Tools> Setup Wizard> Taxes> Duty Codes.
