Overview

The Setup Wizard's Taxes menu allows you to set up your tax parameters for the system. Taxes are date sensitive, which means you can define what date they take effect on or what date they change.

Most provincial, state and Federal taxes are charged globally and are not dependent on who the customer is or what the inventory item is. However, this does vary from place to place. Some taxes may be charged based on who the customer is (tax exempt), where the customer lives (tax zone), what the inventory item is (environmental and ecological ECO taxes), where your goods come from (Duties and Tariffs) and if the item includes labor charges in the retail price (Contractor tax).

To set up your tax parameters for the system:

Access

To access the Taxes setup menu, use the following Navigator path:

Setup Tools> Setup Wizard> Taxes as shown in Figure 1.
