Chart of Accounts window

Topic overview

The Chart of Accounts window allows you to create and maintain the Chart of Accounts.

Access

To access the Chart of Accounts window shown in Figure 1, use the following Navigator menu path:

General Ledger > Ledger Numbers> Chart of Accounts

In the event that the 'Use Ledger Account Reconciliation' feature is enabled in the Setup Wizard (Main Ledger Series), the Chart of Account screen will display a new column between the Ledger Number and the Description to indicate the value of the Reconciliation flag on each account.

The Main Buttons

• Exit: This exits the Chart of Accounts
• Edit: This allows you to edit the chart of accounts. For more information, see Edit Chart of Accounts.
• New: This brings up the Edit Chart of Accounts screen, where you can enter a new number.
• Delete: This deletes the currently selected account. The system will ask you for conformation before deleting.
• Print: This prints the Chart of Accounts.

If your Chart of Accounts is large, you can use the drop down list (see below picture) to filter the accounts by a selected account type. This will decrease the number of accounts displayed on the screen by limiting them to the accounts that are in the selected account type.
