Rentals overview

The Rentals page in the Setup Wizard provides the ability to enter the following information that applies to the entire Rental Module within System Five.

Access

The Rentals page can be found via the following Navigator menu path:

Setup Tools > Setup Wizard > Rental Settings > Rentals, as shown in Figure 1.

Page components

• Use Price Schedules with Rental Rates
• Use Price Schedules for Quantity Discounts
• Use Departmentalized Rental Rates
• Enable Rental Usage Allowances
• Rentals remain out on A or C type invoices
• Rentals remain out on C type invoices
• Convert Work Orders to A/R invoices when returned
• Disable the Sell button for rental items
• Do not charge hourly rates on rentals when closed
• Rates must be valid for entire rental contract
• Do not count rentals prior to min. book month - With this option selected, rentals made prior to the minimum book month will not be included in the rental counts in the Inventory tab of the Inventory item screen.
• Hide rental conflict messages at POS - when enabled, conflict messages do not appear on the sale screen.  
• Show conflict popups at POS – when enabled, conflict pop ups will be displayed to user when conflicts are detected on the sale screen.
• Allow rentals without end dates
• Default rentals as open-ended rentals
• Do not allow editing of Sub category for Rental Items
• Rental renewals
• Reserved Estimates
• Rental Time Entry
• Business Hours

Renewable Rentals

• Renew Rental Items only
• Renew only rental items that have been returned - when enabled, will only renew items w/ status 'Out'.
• Reserve renewable rentals indefinitely
• Exclude renewable rentals from overdue - when enabled, any overdue rental items on invoices with the subtype that has been assigned to renewable rentals will be excluded from being considered overdue.
