Part Find - Select tab

The Part Find window - Select tab. shown in Figure 1, displays all of the inventory parts that match the criteria entered of the Part Number tab. You can customize which columns appear in the grid and click and drag to resize any columns.

The part multi-select function is supported in many areas of the program and allows for a list of items to be returned from Part Find. This is especially useful in building invoices or purchase orders. Items can be selected from the results of different searches. Selected lines turn yellow and bold. Click the Multi-select cell on the header line at the top of the grid to select all items listed. Click the Multi-select cell beside the line or hit the space bar when the line is highlighted to select individual items in the list. Click the [Selected] button on the Toolbar to display currently selected parts only. When performing a multi-search, a review of currently selected items can be found by clicking the [Selected] button. Items can be removed from the list with <CTRL>-<DELETE> on the highlighted the line.

Some tab functions work in relation to the window's Toolbar. Click Toolbar to view detailed information about the Toolbar button options.

The contents and purpose of the columns in the Select tab listing are detailed in Table 1.

Column

Contents and Purpose

Multi-select

This column contains small images that help determine the type of part listed.

Cat

This column contains the sub-category number of the part listed.

Number

This column contains the part number of the part listed. The part number is ONLY displayed in the Number column if the Supplier Part and/or Item column is visible and the last search was either supplier part or item.

Customer Part

This column contains a comma-separated list of customer part numbers for the part number searched.

Description

This column contains the description of the part listed.

Supplier

This column contains the supplier of the part listed, if there is one assigned.

Quantity

This column contains the quantity of the part listed available for sale or the quantity available within the current department.

Note: This value reflects the available quantity minus any oversold quantity.

Dept Quantity

This column contains the total quantity of the part listed available for sale within all departments.

Note: This value reflects the available quantity minus any oversold quantity.

Price

This column contains the list price of the part listed.

Size 1 Label

This column contains the Size 1 value of the part listed.

Size 2 Label

This column contains the Size 2 value of the part listed.

Size 3 Label

This column contains the Size 3 value of the part listed.

Brand

This column contains the brand of the part listed, if one is assigned.

Supplier Part

This column contains the supplier part number of the part listed, if one is assigned.

Weight

This column contains the weight of the part listed.

Volume

This column contains the volume of the part listed.

Length

This column contains the length of the part listed.

Pack size

This column contains the pack size of the part listed.

Units

This column contains the units description of the part listed.

High

This column contains the high stock value of the part listed, if one is set.

Low

This column contains the low stock value of the part listed, if one is set.

Location

This column contains the location of the part listed, if one is associated. For the optional Advanced Inventory Control, the ( ...) is added to the end of the primary picking location if more than one location is linked to the part.

Dept Quantity

This column contains the total quantity in stock of the part listed, this includes parts that are on hold for layaway's and work orders etc.

Cost

This column contains the cost value of the part listed.

Price Qty

This column contains the price quantity value of the part listed. This value is typically 1 unless you have setup the price by quantity options.

Item

This column contains the item number of the part listed.

Barcode

This column displays the barcode.

Oversold

This column displays the oversold quantity for an item.

Min Charge

This column displays the Minimum Charge rate for rental items if there is an active Minimum Charge Rule in effect.

Note: Only available with the Rental Module.

Time Period 1

This column displays the first (lowest) Rental Time Period setup as an Invoice Column in the Setup Wizard.

Table 1: The Select tab - column contents

The grid in this window is customizable. To customize the columns displayed in the grid right-click anywhere a in the grid and select the Customize command from the pop-up menu. The Grid Options dialog box appears as shown below.

To add a currently hidden column, highlight it in the Hidden column list and then click [Show Column] to add it to the preview grid.

To hide a currently viewable column, highlight it in the preview grid and then click [Hide Column] to add it to the Hidden column list. Once you have the grid the way you want it, click [OK] to accept your changes.
