Customer - Cards on File tab (copy)

Topic overview

The Customer Details window - Credit Cards on File tab, shown in Figure 1, contains information that relates to the credit cards associated with the customer record. The Allow credit cards to be stored on file for a customer (recommended OFF) option must be enabled in Setup Wizard> Mercury Payments Systems - Credit/Debit Card sub-tab.

The listing only shows one of each card number, so even though the card is used many times, you only see the details for the last time the card was used.

You can press the [Collect Card] button to manually enter a new card number and expiry date.

You can swipe a credit card to put a new card on file. Note swiping does not put the mag stripe info on file, just the card number and exp date. Processing using this information gives you "CARD NOT PRESENT" rates.

Also, When using the option to store credit cards on file you can now delete an unwanted number by hitting ctrl-del or using the context menu. This is very useful if a customer no longer

wants to have store his card on file.

The purpose, function and contents of the items on the tab are explained in detail in Table 1.
