Adding Firearm as a Unit

The most important thing that needs to be recorded along for a firearm is the unit information. For this will be used in the Web Application in filling out the required E4473. From the Units Tab (Figure 1) of the inventory item, you can set the unit information that would serve as a default for the item, wherein you don't have to enter the unit information every time you are adding a stock quantity. Clicking the [Edit Default] button will open the Unit (DEFAULT) screen.

In the Unit Type, select the type Firearm in the dropdown and you will have the unit fields as shown in Figure 2. The fields Serial #, Manufacturer, Model, Type, and Caliber are information that will auto fill Questions 26 – 30 of the Web Application. Thus, it is important to have them filled-in otherwise you will manually enter this information in the Web Application.

Also, as part of the configuration of the Web Application, shown below is a need to define a heading as IMPORT in the Extra Info tab of your unit information. Then fill in the any information that will describe your heading as a form of a free form comment. This setting will trigger System Five that there are information that needs to be imported into the Web Application.
